After joining the European Union, Romania needs to accelerate the process of affiliation to European institutions and values. In this regard, in our country was noticed an increasing of general interest concerning implementing and adopting modern agrarian policy, compatible with the acquis. In this general context, it is certainly a necessity shaping the framework for animal welfare and protection in general, and particularly for fish.
This project aims to improve common knowledge at national level regarding this less approached issue. The main objective is the implementation of a fish welfare assessment system in field conditions, with acceptable repeatability and applicability. Moreover, the project tries to established the laboratory ANALYSIS profile used in order to assess the welfare of fish in fish farms, during transportation and in slaughter units.
